Air service provider Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has signed a 10-year lease to occupy a 14,780sq m airside unit at the major airside cargo transit facility, the Heathrow Cargo Centre.

It represents the largest ever letting at the site, which was secured by SEGRO and Aviva Investors through their joint venture, Airport Property Partnership (APP.).

WFS will occupy 27,870sq at Heathrow Cargo Centre, with the new space supplementing existing facilities at 551 Shoreham Road and 552 Shoreham Road.

This latest signing has enabled WFS to secure two large customers – both of whom want to take advantage of the access to airside facilities.

Pat Roberts, managing director of WFS, said: “The expansion of our holdings at Heathrow Airport is a major milestone for our company.  Not only has this reconfigured space enabled us to continue to provide a seamless service to some of the biggest names in the industry, it has also paved the way for us to secure two new major clients.

“Our new facility at Building 550 Shoreham Road will enable us to secure 70,000 tonnes of operations from non-airside facilities, resulting in a more efficient service for our customers.  We look forward to working with APP on our future property requirements at Heathrow Airport.”
