Buckinghamshire New University and Aylesbury College are offering free Higher Level Apprenticeships for any employee working within health and social care in the surrounding areas.

The courses will be delivered in the workplace with tutor support and ongoing assessment, and are free to those who register by the end of July 2015.

Start dates for the courses are flexible and are aimed at health care assistants, carers and residential wardens, as well as non-clinical staff who wish to develop their business and management skills.

Karen Buckwell-Nutt, head of vocational healthcare at Buckinghamshire New University said: “All too often, care staff are under-valued and there is a lack of investment in their training.

“We are proud to offer the university’s expertise in the health and social sector to help develop the skills of local support workers and deliver benefits to the patients for whom they care.”
