Brunel University hosted Hillingdon’s first ever business expo on Thursday 9 July.
It was attended by 53 Hillingdon companies, who exhibited, and was attended by 800 people. At a business breakfast, sponsored by chartered accountants Ward Williams, the council’s chief executive, Fran Beasley, spoke about why business is so important to the borough.
There were 12 business workshops and seminars throughout the day, as well as a free networking barbecue, cars on display from the London Motor Museum and an evening networking reception sponsored by Kingston Smith.
The university is also hosting cultural events. It hosted the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra gala concert to celebrate 50 Years in the borough. Over 600 attended the concert, which took place in the converted Indoor Athletic Centre on campus in July.
Between 16 and 18 October, the university will also host the Uxbridge Literary Festival in association with the London Borough of Hillingdon.
