The latest phase of a 90 million housing development at St. Andrew's Park in Uxbridge has been marked with a ceremony to celebrate the topping out of four new apartment blocks, containing 249 homes in a range of ownerships and tenures.

The former RAF base is being transformed into a new community with a total of 1,300 homes, a park and commercial areas.

Developer St. Modwen was joined by lead contractor Galliford Try for the laying of the ceremonial block on 22 February.

Tim Seddon, property director (south-east) for St. Modwen, said: "We'd like to thank Galliford Try and all the contractors for their work on the successful delivery of this phase of the project.

"These four apartment blocks are an important addition to the availability and accessibility of homes in the area.

"We are looking forward to the further phases and other key milestones in the delivery of St. Andrew's Park."
